Anthony Bourdain once said "There is no other place on Earth even remotely like New Orleans. Don't even try to compare it to anywhere else."
I fully agree. I had this place on my bucket list for so many years.
Every corner, street and building is rich with history. A fusion of Spanish, French, West African and Native American gives this town its unique flavor. It's home to Jazz Music, and it also played and important role in the inception of other music genres like Blues, R&B and Rock and Roll.
It's vibrant, loud, rich, delicious. It's also a city that struggles with poverty, hurricanes and crime rate. New Orleans is a testament of how complex this country and its history is, as well as a cautionary tale of how precious and fragile it is.
